Our goal is to offer campers high quality soccer coaching in an encouraging and Christian environment. Our coaching staff will integrate faith and sports, exemplify a Christian lifestyle and create an exciting learning environment for your child. There will be daily bible times and lunchtime skits.

Essex County United Staff are led by former French professional soccer player Philippe Berthoud (Charlotte Eagles, USL). Philippe has an extensive sports ministry and youth soccer development background. Philippe also served as the Head men’s soccer coach at Gordon College and holds a USSF C License.

Celio Freitas is a former semi-professional soccer player (AC Levae, Sao Paulo, Brazil). He has a degree in Physical Education and serve as director of Athletes for Christ and Kids Games Boston, with experience in soccer coaching and youth development.

Coach Jim Wood of Lexington High School and of the EC United men’s amateur team brings 30 years of experience working with young people developing skills and character.

Staff member Tim Rendall has spent the better part of the past ten years working in ministry to elementary and middle school age children. He captained the Gordon College soccer team and was a four year starter.

Staff member Todd McMillan was an All-Conference goalkeeper at Covenant College and has lived and taught overseas. Todd will use his goalie and teaching expertise at our clinics and camps.

Englishman Keith Dakin was an all-star pro player and a top scorer of the Charlotte Eagles professional team. His many years of experience as a player and a camp coach will be of great benefit to our programs.
Keith holds a (Europe) UEFA-B license.
